2016 Reading Goals

Relax and enjoy reading again.

This one may sound silly, but I’m graduating this year, and my final year of university has been really tough. There’s been so much reading, so the last thing I want to do when I have free time is read. I’m hoping that once I’ve finished my last few university books, I can enjoy reading for fun again.

Read 60 books.

I managed to achieve this last year, so I thought I’d repeat the same goal this year, despite being in a bit of a university-induced reading slump.

I’ve been working my way through this short story collection slowly on my Kindle, but I’m still only at 3%! I’d like to have it finished by the end of 2016.

Re-read an old favourite.

When I was younger, I used to re-read a lot, but these days I just don’t have the time. I’d like to make room for at least one re-read this year. I’m thinking Sabriel by Garth Nix or Wither by Lauren DeStefano. It’s going to be tough to choose, though. There are so many books I’d like to revisit.

Give up on books that I’m not enjoying.

I got better at doing this in 2015 because I was so busy. There are far too many good books out there, so if one doesn’t work for me, I’ll donate or swap it and move on.

So those are my reading goals for 2016. Have you made any, and if so what are they?
