Hi, I’m Rachel! I edit and write books.

I started editing in 2017 and quickly turned my love of reading and writing into a full-time book-editing business. I’ve worked with some amazing writers and publishers all around the world, including Hachette, HarperCollins, Penguin Random House, Audible, and Writers & Artists (run by Bloomsbury). Over the years, I’ve worked on 200+ books, including Amazon and New York Times bestsellers.

I’m also the author of the cat café romance series, published by Hodder & Stoughton. The first book, Snowed In at the Cat Café, has sold in eleven territories worldwide and has been translated into eight languages and counting. When you pick up one of my books, you can expect heartfelt and cosy love stories with plenty of emotion – and I hope you’ll go away feeling soothed and happy.

The personal side

I live in Greater Manchester, England with my husband and cat, Haru. As you can see, she enjoys supervising (snoozing) while I work on books all day!

When I’m not writing or editing, I’m usually playing video games, crying over romance Kdramas, or drinking too much coffee – although I’m British, so a cup of tea never goes amiss either!

Have you all been reading anything good this weekend? 💕📖
Spilling the tea on getting published and what mig Spilling the tea on getting published and what might happen next… ☕ I don't think we writers talk about these things enough, especially the first one, which was a big shock to me after I got published!

The positive part is, you learn to deal with these swings and roundabouts over time. And you become a stronger person – and writer – because of it. ❤️

Sooo… in massively exciting news, I bought a house Sooo… in massively exciting news, I bought a house for me and my husband – and it was only made possible because of my books. Every failed manuscript, every year of rejection, all the drafts, the millions of words, and the cat café stories that finally got noticed by publishers around the world… This is what it all turned into. I'm so, so grateful. And a little stunned this even happened. Looking forward to making many memories here – and writing and editing books from my new office! 🏡
I went to IKEA recently, and someone had placed th I went to IKEA recently, and someone had placed this little stuffed cat inside a basket-house. Not sure if the basket is actually meant to be a house or just an oddly shaped decoration, but it's the perfect shape to house a stuffed animal, and it made me smile. 🐱

The wider world feels very heavy right now (an understatement if ever there was one), but small moments of human fun, creativity, and whimsy like this one make me smile. Hope you've all been managing to find small moments of joy if you can. 🤍

Now I'm off back to my editing cave where I'll be working on some excellent client books. 📝

Editing clients

As an editor, I love working with authors one-on-one! I regularly work with self-publishing authors and writers who plan to submit traditionally. Some of my authors have signed with literary agents, landed book deals with major publishers, won awards, and hit bestseller lists. I’ve also worked with many publishing houses over the years, including:

  • Audible
  • Bedford Square Publishers
  • Badger Learning
  • Storm Publishing
  • Chicken House Books (imprint of Scholastic)
  • Ebury (imprint of Penguin Random House)
  • HarperCollins
  • Writers & Artists (platform for writers run by Bloomsbury)
  • Head of Zeus
  • Canelo
  • Hashtag Press
  • Black Library (publishing division of Games Workshop)
  • Bookouture (imprint of Hachette UK)
