Cake Off at the Cat Café is coming on March 27 with @hodderbooks @hodderfiction – and how absolutely beautiful is the cover?! 🥰 Just like with Snowed In at the Cat Café, the cover was designed by the talented @kelley.mcmorris.art and I'm in love with the cherry blossom tree! Cherry blossoms are my favourite flower and I even have a tattoo of one! Plus those cakes look pretty delicious...

Whisks at the ready! This summer, two local cafes will go head-to-head in a baking competition where more is at stake than just the trophy... Will true love be the icing on the cake?

Clem is the baker in charge of creating delicious cat-themed treats for the loyal customers of the Catpurrcino cat café. From iced kitten doughnuts to macarons with ears and whiskers, Clem's creations always bring a smile to the face of anyone lucky enough to taste them.

But outside of the café's kitchen, Clem struggles with feelings of anxiety and where she fits in. Until Sylvie, the owner of the café, decides to push her out of her comfort zone. The Whisked Away baking competition is a chance for Clem to shine and find her inner confidence.

Also competing this year is Lucas, the owner of Muddy Paws café, accompanied by his faithful Golden Retriever Reina.

The stage is set for an epic cake-off between cats and dogs. But as Clem stumbles in the first challenge, Lucas always seems to be there with an encouraging word and a smile. The chemistry between them is soon undeniable.

Is this just the heat in the kitchen? Or something real? And can their feelings survive a showdown in the final round...

It snowed, so I had to head out with Snowed In for some pictures. 🤭 Last time we had snow, it started late at night and was gone by morning, so I didn't get to take any photos. This time, it hung around a little longer! ❄️🌲

Today is the last day of my Christmas break before I get stuck into my full-time editing work again, and my own writing too. I've really needed the rest, but I'm looking forward to getting back into my routine and to working on some lovely books for authors and my own writing projects. If you're waiting for an email from me, I promise to get to it ASAP! I have three weeks' worth of emails to wade through over the next few days. 😅

I'd been saving this book all year to read at Christmas time, and I'm completely captivated. The writing is absolutely stunning, and the story is full of magic and whimsy. It reminds me of The Secret Garden and The Chronicles of Narnia, with a dash of the Bronte sisters.

We follow two protagonists: Beatrice, who receives an invitation to the magical wish-granting Winter Garden following her mother's death when she's a child. Eighteen years later, after refusing to succumb to society's expectations and calling off her pre-arranged engagement, she sets out to find the mysterious garden again, and to set the past right. Her best friend Rosa is a maker of clockwork creatures who has always had ambitions of marrying into high society. Now a duchess and with children of her own – and deeply unhappy in her chosen marriage – Rosa also becomes entangled in the world of the garden and its mysterious Spider Queen.

This is a beautiful book all around. I feel so completely swept up in this gorgeous story taking place in Victorian England (a setting I've always had a soft spot for). I absolutely recommend it. ❄️ ✨️

2024, the year my first traditionally published bo

2024, the year my first traditionally published book came out and my biggest author dreams came true! ✨️💖 I can't thank you all enough for the support and love for this book. I'm a fairly private person on social media about my life, but know that this year has not been without personal challenges. There have also been lots of momumentally good things. 🙏 The response to this book, a story that means so much to me, has been incredible and very comforting and heart-warming.

Thank you so much for reading, for tagging me in your posts, and for sending me nice messages. I hope you all have a wonderful start to a new year, and I hope 2025 is filled with many lovely things for you all. Me and my husband will be seeing the new year in snuggled up with our cats as usual! 🐈🐈‍⬛🥰

A sweet and soft Haru. 🐈‍⬛ I will also be living like a cat for the rest of the year – sleeping and being cosy as much as possible. Sometimes life requires slowing down, and I'm so grateful to be able to do that at this time of year.
