It snowed so there was only one thing to do on my It snowed so there was only one thing to do on my break from wading through new year emails... take pretty book pictures! 📚❄️

Haru does not like snow. Scroll for evidence. 😂 If she was a cat café cat, you'd find her snuggled indoors in the Cat Lounge pretending she wasn't snowed in at all. Far cosier that way.
I'm back at my desk on Monday to get stuck into wo I'm back at my desk on Monday to get stuck into work mode again. In January, I'll be working on a copy and line edit on a lovely client's novel, and a couple of short stories. I also have revisions to turn in for First Dates at the Cat Café which is releasing in May. Not far away now!

For Haru, though, the relaxation never ends. Endless food, affection, and naps forever! 😺
As we say goodbye to 2025, I still can't believe I As we say goodbye to 2025, I still can't believe I get to live my life as a traditionally published author. Personally, it has been quite a hard year, but I still wake up and pinch myself that books are my job (not just writing them but editing them for my amazing clients too!). Some career highlights this year...

🍰😺 Cake Off at the Cat Café came out, making two books in my cat café series.

❄️😺 Snowed In at the Cat Café released in 5 more territories around the world and 4 more languages – in Germany, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Canada.

📚😺 My books were stocked in The Works and I got to sign lots of them in various stores!

🖊😺 I got author copies of some of the translations!

3️⃣0️⃣😺 Just before Christmas, I found out that the series has sold over 30,000 copies in English so far and had a happy cry. 🥺❤️

📖😺 I edited some incredible books for clients!! One client landed a book deal and I saw her special edition in the supermarket and was so proud of her! I took on lots more romance this year, and loved every second.

📑😺 I've now worked on over 280 books as an editor!

If you read or supported my books, or worked with me this year on your own manuscript, thank you SO much. While the year came with many challenges, I am endlessly grateful for this career. 🙏 Hope you all have a lovely and peaceful start to 2026.
Rest in peace Chunk. 😔❤️ **Please don't read this Rest in peace Chunk. 😔❤️ **Please don't read this post if you are sensitive to pet loss/pet death**

Chunk was a young stray my husband had been feeding. He was the sweetest, most affectionate and relaxed creature who only ever wanted cuddles and love, and we really bonded with him, my husband especially, since he's the one who found him. He was getting well acquainted with our cats, who were adjusting to his prescence, and he'd started to come every day for food and attention and to keep warm and dry. We'd been planning to give him a permanent home with us.

He was hit by a car this morning. We are heartbroken as it felt like he'd already become part of the family.

I wanted to post about him here because it feels odd not to say anything and I want people to know he existed. He made my husband really happy; my husband is devastated. He was unique and special and we loved him.

I am so sad he wasn't able to live long enough to become a permanent member of our household. You will be deeply missed Chunk.
Two years ago, I got a phone call from my literary Two years ago, I got a phone call from my literary agent that completely changed my life and my writing career. After seven years of struggling (two years to get an agent and another five on submission to publishers), I had a book deal. My bookish love letter to cats and all things cosy and romantic had sold at auction. It was something I'd begun to think would never happen. 🥹❄️❤️

Now, here we are, several years later. This little book has been released in countries all around the world. I still look at my phone in awe when people tag me in lovely reviews, reels, and gorgeous and creative photos featuring their cats. This book not only has one follow-up book (Cake Off at the Cat Café)... but there are two more to come next year. I never would have dreamed of that while writing it.

I may sound like a broken record when I talk about how hard it was to get here and how grateful I am. But I think it's so, so important to show that good things can come out of a lot of struggle and that even if someone looks like they're doing well now, you don't see what came before that, and the many years of trying to break in.

I'm so thankful to be here, and to every single person who has read my books. And I hope I get to keep writing novels for a long time to come. ❄️❤️🐱☕️
