Two years ago, I got a phone call from my literary Two years ago, I got a phone call from my literary agent that completely changed my life and my writing career. After seven years of struggling (two years to get an agent and another five on submission to publishers), I had a book deal. My bookish love letter to cats and all things cosy and romantic had sold at auction. It was something I'd begun to think would never happen. 🥹❄️❤️

Now, here we are, several years later. This little book has been released in countries all around the world. I still look at my phone in awe when people tag me in lovely reviews, reels, and gorgeous and creative photos featuring their cats. This book not only has one follow-up book (Cake Off at the Cat Café)... but there are two more to come next year. I never would have dreamed of that while writing it.

I may sound like a broken record when I talk about how hard it was to get here and how grateful I am. But I think it's so, so important to show that good things can come out of a lot of struggle and that even if someone looks like they're doing well now, you don't see what came before that, and the many years of trying to break in.

I'm so thankful to be here, and to every single person who has read my books. And I hope I get to keep writing novels for a long time to come. ❄️❤️🐱☕️

❤️❤️ Book blurb ❤️❤️

Grace adores her job as a barista at the café, but dreams of one day setting up her own matchmaking agency to help pet lovers find true love.

When Catpurrcino partners with a dating festival for the whole of August it seems like it is meant to be.

The last thing on Grace's mind is her own love life.

Until she is matched with musician Nathan, who is only at the festival so he can perform.

Grace knows from the very first moment that Nathan is not the man of her dreams.

But no one is going to take romantic advice from someone who can't even get through one successful date. So Grace and Nathan make a pact: they will pretend to be smitten with each other until the end of festival.

The more time Grace and Nathan spend playing the perfect couple, the more Grace wonders if her fake feelings are becoming real... Could Nathan ever feel the same?

My Czech author copies of Snowed In at the Cat Caf My Czech author copies of Snowed In at the Cat Café arrived today! I love how all publishers do things slightly differently... there are pawprint edges and snowflake chapter headers on this edition published by @nakladatelstvi_bourdon. How adorable! So excited to have these. ❄️🐈

Chopped all my hair off recently and I love it! Ot Chopped all my hair off recently and I love it! Other things that have been chopped (or at least revamped) include an entire chapter of First Dates at the Cat Café where I realised I needed to change a character's entire backstory to a much juicier one... 😅

I have about one month to finish this draft and so many new ideas I want to implement – and I want to change most of the ending I had planned. Wish me luck! 🐈☕️
Did you know I'm also a professional book editor? Did you know I'm also a professional book editor? 😊 It's been my main career and full-time job since 2017 and I absolutely love it. It was only last year when my writing began to catch up, becoming not just a passion pursuit in my free time but another solid side of my career – it's now on even footing with my editing!

I trained back in 2017 as an editor and proofreader, and since then I've worked on over 200 books for both major publishing houses and independent writers. I've worked with Penguin Random House, Hachette, HarperCollins, Black Library (on official Warhammer fiction – not pictured), and many more. I've worked on books by celebrities. Some of my authors landed agents, big publishing deals, or hit bestseller lists.

It's SO rewarding being an editor. I don't talk about it much on here since this is mainly my author platform but I wanted to change that. I love helping writers grow and achieve their dreams. And I love the variety. Deep story editing and guidance one day, copyediting the next. Chatting to authors about their plans and ideas, seeing them improve, helping with submission packages, watching them publish and achieve their goals. It's the best job ever!

These are some of the excellent books I've worked on during my career. Just a small amount since there is well over 200... Have you read any of these? 💕📚
