Around this time last year on December 7th, I'd ju Around this time last year on December 7th, I'd just had the most *amazing* phone call from my agent to tell me I'd accomplished what I'd been working towards for seven years – I had a book deal! I'd been submitting several books with my agent for five years, but attracting no interest from publishers. Before that, I spent two years querying agents. Really, if you count all the years I'd spent writing with a dream of being traditionally published one day, I'd been working towards it for much, much longer. I'd started to believe it was never going to happen for me. But then it finally did. 🎉 Last Christmas was the most incredible time. The book ended up going to auction, meaning multiple publishers were interested. I couldn't tell anyone except my family, and we had the most incredible Christmas celebrating. The book then sold in a swathe of foreign territories over the next few months, before we'd even announced it! It was surreal. Now, a year later, it's out in the world and is doing SO well. I'm still astounded at what's happened in the space of a year, and I'm so incredibly grateful. 2024 has been a challenging year in other ways for me personally, but knowing my writing is reaching people keeps me going. 💖 If you've picked up Snowed In or gifted it to someone, left a review, tagged me in a post, made a reel, sent me a nice message or a comment, recommended it to a friend, just anything really – thank you so much. ❤️🐈 I can't wait to welcome you back to Catpurrcino in March with the next book! 🌸

I've been getting tagged in posts about this edition of the book and have been eager to see it for myself in person – it's just lovely. And it arrived just after all our Christmas decorations went up, so of course I had to get a picture in front of the lit-up tree! 🎄 My favorite part of this cover is all the cats dressed up for Christmas. 🥹🫶 #snowedinatthecatcafe #noelaucatcafe #rachelrowlands
I went back to the cat cafè that I visited while I went back to the cat cafè that I visited while I was writing Snowed In! 🐱☕️ It was so strange to visit with the book in my hands. Last time I came here, I was drafting the book and wondering whether any publishers would be interested after years upon years of rejection. I loved every minute of writing Snowed In – it really is the book of my heart –but I was feeling so worn down by submitting book after book to publishers, and pretty hopeless about my chances of becoming a traditionally published author! Little did I know that towards the end of that year, just before Christmas 2023, I would be offered my first book deal and the book would go to auction, before selling in a swathe of foreign territories as well! It was the best Christmas gift I've ever been given, and it felt so fitting to be back at this cafè a year later. 🐈🎄 #snowedinatthecatcafe #romancebookstagram #romancebooks #catstagram #catsofinstagram #bookstagram
