Cherry blossoms are my favourite flower and I even have a tattoo of one! Plus those cakes look pretty delicious... It snowed, so I had to head out with Snowed In for It snowed, so I had to head out with Snowed In for some pictures. 🤭 Last time we had snow, it started late at night and was gone by morning, so I didn't get to take any photos. This time, it hung around a little longer! ❄️🌲 Today is the last day of my Christmas break before I get stuck into my full-time editing work again, and my own writing too. I've really needed the rest, but I'm looking forward to getting back into my routine and to working on some lovely books for authors and my own writing projects. I'd been saving this book all year to read at Chri I'd been saving this book all year to read at Christmas time, and I'm completely captivated. The writing is absolutely stunning, and the story is full of magic and whimsy. It reminds me of The Secret Garden and The Chronicles of Narnia, with a dash of the Bronte sisters. We follow two protagonists: Beatrice, who receives an invitation to the magical wish-granting Winter Garden following her mother's death when she's a child. Eighteen years later, after refusing to succumb to society's expectations and calling off her pre-arranged engagement, she sets out to find the mysterious garden again, and to set the past right. Her best friend Rosa is a maker of clockwork creatures who has always had ambitions of marrying into high society. Now a duchess and with children of her own – and deeply unhappy in her chosen marriage – Rosa also becomes entangled in the world of the garden and its mysterious Spider Queen. This is a beautiful book all around. I feel so completely swept up in this gorgeous story taking place in Victorian England (a setting I've always had a soft spot for). 2024, the year my first traditionally published bo 2024, the year my first traditionally published book came out and my biggest author dreams came true! ✨️💖 I can't thank you all enough for the support and love for this book. I'm a fairly private person on social media about my life, but know that this year has not been without personal challenges. There have also been lots of momumentally good things. 🙏 The response to this book, a story that means so much to me, has been incredible and very comforting and heart-warming.
